Ready, Set, Go!
Alright, so time got away from me... again. I have no idea that we were so close to Fast and Furious 7. I have to make sure I have all of my ducks in a row so that I can see that movie witha clear conscience. The last thing I want is some deadline keeping me out of the theater when my most hotly anticipated movie of the year is out.
Yeah, I know. I should be more hyped for Avengers 2: Age of Ultron but I have to say that that movie doesn't have me nearly as excited as the latest with Dominic Toretto and company. My fiancee, Felicia, and I started watching the movies "ironically" after the guys over at Giant Bomb convinced me that the movies had their own merits. We signed up for the first and suffered through it. Honestly, it was just Point Break with street racing instead of surfing. We fell in love with the series with the second. Trudged through Tokyo Drift and found something to love in every movie that followed.
I won't go on and on about its many, many redeeming qualities, real or imagined, but I will say that I appreciate that the franchise knows what it is, what its strengths are, and that it's not shy about giving the audience what it wants. I wish more big name franchises would do the same.
